Faris Khory is an accomplished media consultant and trainer with extensive experience across various platforms in the journalism landscape.

Recently, he served as a visiting lecturer in the Journalism Department at City, University of London, where he shared insights and expertise with aspiring journalists.

In 2023, Faris took on the role of freelance News Editor for BBC Arabic TV and Online, where he was responsible for editorial oversight and quality assurance of news reports.

Prior to this, Faris spent nearly four years as the Executive Editor for the Iraq Project at BBC Media Action, contributing to impactful media initiatives.

Earlier in his career, Faris was the Head of Assignment at Al Arab TV in Bahrain, where he led editorial decision-making and news coverage.

Between late 2009 and 2013, Faris served as the Editor of the BBC Arabic Service at BBC World Service, overseeing operations across TV, radio, online platforms, newsgathering, planning, and program development.

Faris was a key player in the launch of BBC Arabic TV in January 2007 as a TV News Editor, where he was instrumental in establishing the project, including staff recruitment and training.
